Brevet des Collèges

The day when every 15 year old in France is bent over exactly the same exam paper at the same moment.

They've put me on invigilation duty with two pupils, both of whom have 'difficulties'.
This means that they each have an assistant which means that the adults in the room out number the pupils.

French Part 1 - Grammar and the infamous dictation
French Part 2 - Rédaction.

In between the two I make a coffee and sneak through a fire door to stand in a fine drizzle at the arse end of the school building, amongst dead pot plants, broken wooden benches and dry Christmas trees and contemplate, once again, the abruptness of the end of the school year;  months of sound and fury representing something, rounded off with a few hours of bowed-headed silence and then.....well, nothing.
