Lush

This is the perfect time to photograph the allotment. It looks so lush, so full of great promise.

What you don't see is the size of the carrots beneath the ground, the fact that the raddish are ready to bolt, and that the brassicas may yet be eaten by someone other than me. You don't see the lack of progress from the beetroot, or the lack of berries in the fruit cage.

Yet I can forgive all this for the lushness and beauty of the green, but more importantly for the sheer enjoyment of the time spent among it all.
