I explained to Suki when she came to rule my house that I like to go on holiday and have adventures from time to time. I told her about the really good cat hotel just down the road where I knew she’d be a superstar.

She had an overnight trip when I went to Eloise’s christening, and she had a slightly longer visit while I enjoyed London.

She was very good. They love her and will have her back, of course.

All the way home in the car she told me off. She’s normally an incredibly quiet cat (just a few gentle hunting noises as she watches pigeons in the garden.) She’s  certainly no “talking tortie”.

She kept up her complaints until she swaggered into the lounge where she checked that everything was ok. She went for some food (trying to fool me into thinking they’d starved her.)

Then she sat in the sunshine with a really judgemental expression on her face.

But it didn’t last. She was soon rubbing against my legs, wanting fuss, and even jumped to sit on the arm of my recliner (something she’s only done in the last two weeks.)

I hope this means I’m forgiven, for now.

She’s back to playing with her toys, and watching the tv.

She’s very bright. She is so skilled as she manoeuvres the Dreamie mouse to give her the treats.

I think we’re both glad to be home.
