Growing

I’m hopeless at growing sunflowers.

In Primary schools the children grow them successfully.

Mine germinate and the green shoots appear - and it’s downhill all the way from there.

They don’t flourish.
They get eaten…..

I asked a gardener at Bridgewater on Saturday and she said theirs are in full sun, “and our Manchester rain, of course.”  Theirs were fabulous and so well grown already.

This one at Shugborough this morning is clearly doing well, but it was the only one so far advanced.

I’ve planted my miserable little attempts in the bed near a wall so they have support. If any do ok I promise I’ll blip.
