A day of sunshine and showers, not really making up its mind what it wants to do, afterall it is mid-summer in the UK, so normal really!

We went out this morning for a battery and coffee.  The battery is for our upstairs smoke alarm; it's wired into the mains but as the backup battery begins to run down it chirps, every minute or so day and night.  I'm not sure how the battery can run down when the device is wired to the mains, but it's very irritating,  especially at night when we are trying to sleep.

Anyway the coffee was nice, we stopped off at York's Cafe.

After lunch we did some bits and pieces and relaxed in front of the TV to watch the tennis from Wimbledon.  At one time the middle Sunday was only used for emergency catch-up due to bad weather.

Whilst walking back to the car we spotted this poppy flower growing in the hedgerow. A candidate for this week's Wildflower Week hosted by Miranda1008
