A New Day

Perth Concert Hall

It was a lovely sunny day today and I spent most of the afternoon sitting in a coffee shop in Perth chatting to a friend! I took this photo while waiting for her to arrive, as our intention was to use the cafe here but it was closed for a private function.

This concert hall was opened by HM The Queen in 2005 and was built on the site of the original 12th century Perth Castle, an earth and timber structure which was washed away when the River Tay flooded. The area was then used as a huge market place until developed under a Millenium grant. We've been to many great concerts here over the years and it looks quite spectacular at night with all the lights on inside.

The building saga has come to a lull, but at last we have a correct quotation. All we need now is for the delivery of the materials to be correct and work can start on the patio next week. Or is that just wishful thinking? Watch this space!!
