A whole lotta straw

We head for Dalkeith early doors, stopping for a coffee at Greggs. I collect a 7.5t box lottery and drive to Blackburn farm near Lauder.

We load 170 bales into the lorry and make our way to Kirkurd. The journey is fine, apart from a hairy detour through the town centre of Galashiels.

Nick joins us to unload the bales, and we stack them on the subfloor, 8 layers deep. We finish just as the rain starts, but we get the tarp over them and fixed down just in time.

Back home to cook rabbit following a random Cave Girl recipe from the internet. I’m going to pair it with courgette and feta bake.
