Boating

The wind had dropped right away today, so we got the boat out and went fishing.  We each caught a single sand eel (about 9" long) which is a good sign of healthy seas as they feed a lot of other birds and fish.  No eating on them though, so back they went.  

CyclopsJnr had been promised a swim in the pool in Ullapool today so we headed down there for lunch.  We had fish and chips from a shop (outside in the sun!) to make up for our poor performance as fisherfolk.  When we got to the pool we discovered it was closed for the week due to "unforseen circumstances" (no mention of that on the website when I checked the day before) and CyclopsJnr was absolutely gutted.  I got him a Lego Ninjago comic to cheer him up, and offered him anything he wanted for dinner.  He chose a cheese sandwich...

We went to the beach for a bit before this exciting dinner, to dig some big holes.
