Musings of a Mortal

HOKA Speedgoat 4

Before heading off on his epic adventure, there was a big decision as to what sort of footwear would be appropriate for a long distance walk.

Being "old school", I was very much thinking that a good pair of Hill Walking boots would be they way to go but I quickly found out that Jonathan had other ideas.

Trail Runners.

Lightweight yet still giving a good grip underfoot.

So we headed of to "Run4it" where he had a model in mind to buy but when we were there, the shop assistant suggested a pair of these HOKAs.

With a "lifespan" of 500 miles and being a great fit, Jonathan decided to buy them with the thinking that they may have to be replaced half way thru the journey.

1300 miles later and very much on their last leg, he manged to complete the whole trip in one pair.

Delighted with them, I think another pair will be purchased but before that an email will be sent to the company, thanking them for such a well made piece of footwear....

.... and you never know what their reply may be ;-)
