Dinner at Mike's
This evening my human and her friend, Diane, went to Mike's for dinner. Mike had very kindly said that I could come too. After initially zooming around and being a bit hyper, I settled down in snooze mode and was a very well behaved little collie pup.
Mike made Ann & Diane a very yummy dinner which they ate whilst watching Wimbledon.
As is the case (when copious quantities of wine have been consumed), strange topics of conversation were discussed. These included a dog eating a tortoise and Diane's cousin putting his tortoise, Reggie, in the fridge for hibernation purposes.
Yes, that really is true (Ann googled it). And to think that in the 1960s when Ann's family inherited 'Toby the tortoise' (when they moved into a new house) the highlight of the year was watching Val Singleton on 'Blue Peter' preparing Fred/Freda cos no one actually knew what sex the tortoise was to go into their box full of hay in someone's garage. Who knew that for hibernating a tortoise these days, you just have to stick it in an empty ice cream box and put it in the fridge for a few months. Think I'd be a bit worried it would wake up and start eating the greens?!!
Anyway that was the conversation I had to listen to tonight. My human still can't believe that if you own a tortoise you just have to put it in the fridge for a few months to hibernate....................
And in other news................ I had a lovely play down on the beach first thing this morning, Ann went for a swim and then did a Zumba class and I had another lovely walk through the fields this afternoon.
And that's been our day.
Toodles. xxx
