Checking things out......................

This afternoon I had an extra walk to the Caravan Park, across the road from us, because Ann wanted to check out the opening times of the new swimming pool and aqua fit classes. She also wanted to check out whether it was going to be open all the year round or just in the summer.
Obviously she doesn't want to go swimming in it now, (because she's swimming every day in the sea), but in the winter, it's going to be really handy for her. Apparently it is going to be open all the year round. Yay! It's a small pool so numbers are limited to 15, but today when we went, there was only one person in it. Ann is definitely going to use it when we're here in the winter. OK it's not big, but if she times it right she can go when it's quiet and at at only £5 per session for non-residents, it's cheaper than the £6.50 they charge at the Leisure Centre and she just has to walk across the road and not up a big steep hill. They also have a lovely restaurant/bar attached to it, though gorgeous little Collie pups are not allowed inside. That's why I'm sitting here tied up in 'good dog mode'. However, they've just about finished building their outdoor seating area and I will be allowed to go with Ann onto that bit. However, I don't think she'd leave me sitting there by myself while she swam for an hour, even though all the staff came out and made a fuss of me.

The other place we checked out today is the new cafe which is opening 2 mins down the road from us. Last year it was an 'electric bike hire' place. This year it's going to be a cafe which we're thinking will be opening soon. Ann's following them on FB and they keep posting photos of healthy breakfast options. Stuff like muesli and oats and smoothies and lots of posh fruit things?!! Mmmmm.................... obv Ann will check it out when it opens, but if she goes out for breakfast she likes a big fry up. Lol!

The third place we checked out today, was one of the local dog groomers. I've got really long hair near my back legs/tail and for ages Ann has wondered about getting it cut off because it get's very matted. Anyway the dog groomer wasn't working today so we just spoke to the shop assistant who didn't seem to have a clue about anything. I don't need a full groom. He just told us it would be £49 for a full groom including going in the hypnotherapy pool. Why would I want to go in the hypnotherapy pool when I can go in the sea every day? Ann wasn't too happy. She asked how I would be restrained when I was having my hair cut and he said that I would just stand on a table................ and then she looked on the website and saw pictures of doggies in harnesses etc. There is absolutely no way that she would leave me for 2 hrs unless she knew exactly what was going to happen to me. There's no way she's going to pay £49 for a haircut for me either.

….............And that's been our day. I've had three walks and a play in the field. It's been a lovely sunny day, but very windy so we've not been able to do much basking on the sun terrace.

….............And now Ann's off to do her last shift in the 'Harbour Pool Club'. She's been working on a Thursday evening there since we came back to St Ives in April and now we have just over a week left before we head back to Edinburgh...................  #wherehasthetimegone
