Sun, Sea, Shopping, Shoe, Schools & Seicento
What an amazing sun shining day. Thank goodness!
L got to wear a dress which she was most excited about. She's needed new shoes for ages but I wasn't prepared to replace the winter boots until the weather improved. That day came today! I only bought her a cheapy pair of imitation converse. They seemed to fit ok but they looked a little strange. It was only after she'd worn them in the garden for a couple of hours I realised one was a size 6 and the other a size 8! They were bound together with elastic and everything!
With the sun, out came my summer clothes too. I was shocked and felt foolish when I realised this evening I'd got burnt shoulders. Im always bleating on about being sensible in the sun. Im my defence (in fact it probably makes me more daft) I do have the most ridiculously pale skin. It only does blue for 9 months and then switches to red for the other 3.
Food shopping arrived which always makes me happy and then J came home with the new car. Grandad has bought a car for us to use until his car goes to the scrap heap. Its so kind of him and going to make life a lot easier from now on. Exciting to think we wont have to wake the kids in the morning to take J to work, and we'll have at least an extra hour in the evening to get dinner and homework done. It will just be a thoroughly enjoyable pace of life.
J and I left the evening free to discuss E's school situation. I think we might decide to leave her where she is. Even though the other school is probably better and has more facilities suited to E's interests, ultimately, it will lead to an upper school over an hour away in the future. I would like her to be able to mix with local friends outside of school, something I never had because I use to be a train and bus ride away from my school. Weekends were long and a bit lonely for me and my school days were very long. It's tough deciding on quality of life over education, but I think (hopefully) we've made a choice.
Off to rub some cream into my roasting shoulders.... night folks. Ouch!
