Smallhythe Place

The home of the well known actress Ellen Terry from the 19th to early parts of 20th centuries. A fine building and a fine memorial to her life and work.

We were in Tenterden with Al and Liz, first having lunch at the Lemon Tree, then going on to Smallhythe Place. We paused at Tenterden Town station to see if anything was going on. Not much as a train had just left and one not due to return for an hour or so.

The departure of the PM was inevitable with hindsight but I fully expected him to try and brazen it out as he has done so many times in the past. It feels like a storm that has been building for ages finally broke and perhaps in the aftermath a more collaborative process can begin to tackle the many issues that this country and the world face.
