Today's the day ...................... to stand still

A visit to the NTS Threave Gardens, near Castle Douglas today - which were really looking at their summer best.

And it's not just the trees and flowers, there are lots of sculptures and other pieces of artwork to add to the enjoyment.  The deer as shown above, is so lifelike that you really find yourself catching your breath when you come upon it unexpectedly.  

The basket-work corgis, on the other hand are just a bit of fun - a new installation to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee .......................
