Today's the day ...................... for an art class

Tessa and Josie are with us for a couple of days, as schools are on their summer holidays here - and today, Tessa asked Will to show her how to paint with watercolours.

He had the perfect thing for her to paint with - a tin of watercolour pencils, where you colour in your picture in the usual way and then use a brush to paint over with water.  The end effect is bright bold colours but with a watercolour texture.  She wanted to know about shading and perspective (not that she used those words) and how his paintings looked the way they did.  Needless to say, he was very happy to pass on his knowledge and the two of them were deeply engrossed in it all.

She painted lots of pictures - but this is the one I like best.  There's no mistaking it's a portrait of her Taid .....................!
