The end of a perfect day

Spent the morning with Neil recording some new songs for our next CD.  I’m playing along to a rhythm track in my headphones.  I get lost in the music - I close my eyes and it feels like a gig.  It’s been nearly a year since the last one.

Then we spend the evening with Dan and Varnika.  We talk about the up-coming wedding. She explains to Anniemay that there’s no concept of Mother-in-law in India; “So - can I just call you Mum?” (Choke).

After dinner we walk round the town and the Common.  We pass the retirement home and Varnika struggles with this idea; “When we are married you will be my parents.  So I will look after you when you are old”.   (Sob.)

She’s an amazing young woman.
