Cooling off in the garden

I'm enjoying this burst of heat... unlike Richard, who finds it difficult (especially when combined with his hay fever).
But today it all worked out well. We spent the afternoon in the garden, with the paddling pool out. Josh had some work to do at the farm, and Ruth and the boys relaxed in the garden with us, till J came back and accepted Eben's dare: could he sit right down in the paddling pool's cold water and stay there for several minutes? He could, much to Eben's delight.
It was also the last day of the Walkley festival (Walkley is our local neighbourhood). So the park across the road was buzzing, with stalls, live music, games etc. Eben was feeling the heat and just wanted to stay in the garden with me. He also loves any opportunity for a bit of 1:1 time. Richard, Ruth and Luca went over to the park for a little while - where they bumped into some friends. Good times all round.
