Common Blue
I went to a local meadow in the hope of spotting some common blues and with a bit of patience I managed to get a few shots of this little one.
I was glad that I went today, despite the heat, as over two thirds of the meadow have bee mown and there was a big threshing machine going up and down turning the cut plants. It's a bit of a shame as there is only a small patch left with wild flowers and so forth, but in truth, the wildflowers are past their prime and dying off naturally, even without the heat.
The first extra continues my unintentional series on 'sharing flowers' and the second shows an uncropped close up of a very placid copper butterfly who wasn't bothered in the least by my presence!
