The One and Only

... Bulliblips, and gorgeous Isaac, came to visit today, bearing a bunch of deep pink roses and a most delicious baked lemon and raspberry (picked from the garden they're looking after) cheesecake - which Isaac was rather put out to learn they wouldn't be taking what was left home with them. In fact, we've just had a slice each for our dessert, sorry Isaac!

This was also the one and only photo I took today (most unusual for me), but certainly made choosing a photo dead easy for once. Notice the fan, it was hot today, too hot to eat in the garden at lunchtime.

Gratefuls:
- getting up early enough to finish painting the front garden wall before they arrived, and various touch-ups
- Mike drilling into the brick and concrete layer I found (to my dismay) in the front flower bed, and hacking out a hole, so the hydrangeas we bought can grow deep roots, plus attaching skirting boards and plastering where he took a trim off from behind the stairs
- Tom sorting the electrics in the kitchen and attaching curtain rails in both downstairs rooms, and hanging the curtains, green in one room, yellow in the other, and that was after coming home from work

It's progressing!

Julia, by the way, shopped and kept us all fed, delicious kedgeree for dinner, which we did eat outside. And did a couple of washes, all dried on the line, such a luxury.
