Better

Going to the hospital on Monday when run down after my outing on Sunday might have been asking for trouble. Although my sciatic soreness was much better this morning, my aches now feel more like a viral infection - the snotty nose and rubbish on my chest are another clue! Perhaps it's Covid, but I wouldn't know how to check, having avoided testing through the pandemic.

I hope, too, that what caused Mum to need two paramedics when very breathless this afternoon isn't the same thing - and I don't think it is. I was called by the manager of the flats when it happened, and drove in to act as a reliable ear, if nothing else.

Back home I was tired, and a bit ill, so I took two Brufen and watched the last hour of today's play in the Lancashire-Somerset game. Cricket at its most ridiculous, but chapeau Jennings. I've not watched anyone reach 300 since Gooch's 333 against India in 1990.

The evening walk with Django was another good one, and better for not being so sore as yesterday. I still took it easily though. We passed the Ramsay Obelisk, but just after it was this image that caught my eye. Spot the dog! Penicuik New House was also well lit (see extra).

In passing, it was refreshing to see the French senate castigate the organisation of the Champions League Final, when they might have tried to close ranks. I guess it was too obvious a fiasco to pretend otherwise.
