Astrantia major

I have never known this plant as anything other than Astrantia but it seems some sources call it Great Masterwort.

We made one of our fairly frequent visits to Larch Cottage Nurseries at Melkinthorpe.  Known to us merely as "Melki".

As always it was a fascinating wander round seeing everything in flower and a good number we hadn't seen before.  I took lots of shots many with their accompanying lable, however, a doddering old man forgot to get the variety of this!

A native of parts of Europe it has even naturalised in Shropshire and Worcester.
