"Horse Mushroom"

Well, I grew up knowing these as "Horse Mushrooms".   I don't think they are the "normal" edible Mushroom.   I have never known anybody collect and eat them.

We headed north to pick Kat up from work at the Water of Leith Visitors Centre.  We arrived early enough for a walk along the river.  I was surprised to see the number of fungi, fungi are to me an indicator of autumn.   Yes I know there are varieties that fruit at different times of the year but the majority seem to be autumnal.
