Productive

A day with nothing in the diary turned out to be very productive!

We went into Lincoln to get a new passport photo for B to renew his coaching certificate with UK Athletics. This only took a few minutes, so we went up to the Cheese shop to buy some Gudbrandsdalen, a brown Norwegian cheese made from goat’s milk and cow’s cream. It’s a bit of an acquired taste which I love but B doesn’t.

Whilst we at the top of the high street we checked to see if the shop that B used to buy electrical equipment and tools more than 50 yrs ago was still in business. It’s there but closed on a Wednesday. It’s an Aladdin’s cave of specialist stuff !!! It wasn’t until I looked at this picture that I could see how the building is built on a steep hill. (It’s called Steep Hill)

We hadn’t planned to have coffee and cake, as we had breakfast late and then set out for town. But one must support local businesses!!!  We went to Coffee Bobbins, a sewing themed cafe which has lots of quirky recycled materials. I loved the unusual shelf brackets in the pic in extras.

B had problems with his mobile phone display again. I took it to EE to get it sorted last time, but couldn’t remember what the lady did. We went back today and between us, the young man, B and me, we got it sorted and changed the Acccessibility zoom option in Settings to prevent it happening again. I checked my phone to see if it was correctly set up and it was.

I then had the opportunity to do a little bit of retail therapy (ladies clothing) which certainly wasn’t intended, but was very nice!!!

It was cooler in town this morning, with a pleasant breeze, but this afternoon when we were doing some pruning and generally tidying up in the garden,  it was much warmer.

Lots of odds and ends done, but I’m losing out on keeping the plants watered.
