Sydenham Rd

Tomorrow is the last day of train replacement buses from Sydenham. None of the drivers know the route, either listening to Google instructions or glancing at their notes on the back of an envelope.

This morning’s driver provided a commentary. He welcomed us aboard, thanked us for choosing to travel with him, said it was 10C outside and, a glance out the window, raining but that conditions at our destination were improving. Lurches over roundabouts were ground turbulence. We circled Dulwich Hill station three times after he took a wrong turn, only to discover his reverse gear didn’t work. Probably just as well with two buses behind him.

This is the view opposite Sydenham station with a slice of city skyline. I had a wait for the train this evening.
