Some happy Swedish fans shortly after Everton’s Hanna Bennison had scored what proved to be winner in their match against Switzerland in the Women’s Euro 2022 group stage match. 

The game was hosted at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane and there was plenty of evidence around town of their “host city” status. After working in the morning it was an easy enough journey down on the train and I had time for a walk round the Millennium Gallery and my first visit to Grave Gallery before heading down to the ground. 

As with Sunday’s game there was a good atmosphere, with a completely different demographic and vibe compared to men’s football. 

For balance, in extras you’ll find Swiss fans celebrating their earlier equaliser that had brought the game back to 1-1 before Bennison’s late winner. You can’t hear the cow bells though.
