Earth pillars….

The amazing earth pillars here formed as the glaciers retreated at the end of the Ice Age. Although not as spectacular, they are very similar to Les pyramides d’euseigne in Val d’Herens, where they are protected. These aren’t even sign posted!
The river is very low and everywhere dry.
Today I startled a Heron. He was standing in a backwater and ,as I surprised him, leapt into the air squawking and flapping!
