Today it’s the turn of the Californian Poppy. We grew these from seed and they are beautiful- a range of orange/yellow hues and I love the way they close up in the afternoon and open again the next morning.

We drove to Scales this evening, thankfully choosing the non- motorway route as the M6 was at a stand hill for miles in both directions around Todhills with police and fire engines in attendance. I found out later that there had been a crash involving two HGVs, one of which subsequently caught fire. I hope no one was seriously hurt.
