Meet Kirsty and Lia, from Lean Bean Coffee Shop in Thornhill!

Joanna has been talking about this place for weeks, so I asked her to take me along next the time she visited. 

Lean Bean is not just a coffee shop but a place where you can stock up on all kinds of ingredients - a refill and zero waste shop (take your own containers/ reusable coffee cups - perfect for those of us doing Plastic Free July), and one which promotes local produce. Plenty of GF options, too, so it ticks a lot of my boxes :-)

After stocking up in the shop, Joanna and I sat outside to drink our coffee in the sunshine. We had a lovely conversation with a friend of Joanna's who is just finishing a uni course on sustainability - our talk ranged from compost to wormeries to children learning how to grow food and many other topics along the way.

I went back inside to ask Kirsty and Lia if I could take their photo for my blip and they very kindly said yes. Lia and I talked about Portugal - she is from Lisbon and I told her about the Camino, which is beginning to feel more real now (8 weeks away if all goes to plan). She gave me some tips and made me especially excited to visit Porto.

On the way home, I visited Joanna's garden and admired the veg growing in her raised bed and her lovely roses.
