The Big Butterfly Count

Here in the UK today it is the start of the Big Butterfly Count, no I didn't know either. It will continue until the 7th August.

Counting the number of, or the lack of butterflies has been described as taking the pulse of nature. All it takes is 15 mins of your time observing the different types you see wherever you pick to watch from. I used my back garden.

I have Blipped the first one I saw, a Comma (Polygonia c-album) and I must admit I haven't noticed one of these fellas before. I also listed one Small Tortoiseshell and four Large Whites.
