Snookums

We went swimming this evening to a pool quite near us that I hadn't been to before. We went with some friends, and had a really nice time. There were water slides at the pool, and Betsy and Oscar were down them all the time. Al wouldn't go - though our other friend Lola said she would go. I knew Al would love it, but he's so stubborn sometimes! We were joking about and offering him all sorts of outrageous bribes! In the end Oscar said he would give him five pounds if he didn't enjoy it! I don't know why this worked, as Al doesn't appear to be interested in the £30-ish he has in his money box. But it did work! When he came down, I was in the pool waiting for him to look up so I could give him the thumbs-up, but he didn't see, he was too busy rushing round for another go! That was it, all four of them were on it till they closed it at 7 o'clock.

We are going back next week, obviously! Me and my friend Claire were pottering about in the freezing water doing a few half-hearted lengths and were blue with cold by the time we got out.
