Flying Dutchman and friends

Hairdresser day for me, it all felt a lot busier than on Monday, I felt the need to wear a mask. The sun was shining and decided to post a photo from a another part of Tobermory than shown on Monday including the Flying Dutchman again. The owner of the FD had a chat with us on Monday, she was employed as the chef some years ago and married the owner who sadly passed away two years later. She was close to tears, told us she still cooks on board although didn’t tell us her cat story, there is always one when chatting at the market. It must be amazing to own a boat like this, it’s big.

Just taken a look for information on the FD, I’m showing just a couple of lines from the piece:

This former herring drifter first set sail in 1903 under the name “KW 33”. After many voyages, it was restored as an employment creation project. Its new owner carried out renovation work during the winter of 2003/2004, turning it into the “Flying Dutchman”, a luxury schooner.
