Sponge the teacher!

Still tidying and sorting from flood.

Headed off to town for Saks appointment, Ella’s school stall and Nathaniel’s school fete.

En route #2 daughter phoned to say KLM had cancelled our flights from Newcastle to Amsterdam, en route for Rome and our family holiday villa. I know it’s a first world problem but it’s all very stressful on top of the flood. She managed to get her family a flight from Manchester and the rest of us from Edinburgh though we only have 80 minutes transfer window. As we are due to return to Newcastle we can’t leave our car in Edinburgh but trains are on strike that day. I blame the Tories!

Ella was making bracelets and key rings to sell as a business scheme. Mr C bought some but wanted to get out fast as it was crowded and noisy. Then we picked up their luggage and chatted to Luke till Ella got home from school. We took her to Nathaniel’s fete where we bought a few treats. Here he is throwing the wet sponge at his teacher. It was very crowded in the school grounds and we soon lost sight of him. We looked everywhere - I couldn’t cope with us losing him again. I found a teacher looking after a bouncy castle and told her we had lost him. He appeared from the secret room of the blowup castle, having heard us saying we’d lost him. He and his chums were playing some game. Phew.

Now they are staying with us for the night and we are about to play some board games.
