Our garden
Back home and of course the first thing is to inspect the garden. Thanks to our younger son everything is fine.
Glad I moved most pots into the shade, where they will be staying until the heatwave is over.
We had an enjoyable morning visiting Thirsk. Always like to have a look at the market, but unfortunately not as many stalls as there used to be, and my favourite cheese stall was missing.
However it is always a pleasure just wandering round the town. Such a friendly laidback feel to the place. No hustle and bustle, and not everyone on their mobile phones. People stop for a chat instead.
I bought two Royal Worcester, Evesham flan dishes from the Hospice Charity Shop. A bargain for £2, and £3.
There was a beautiful yew round table and 6 chairs for just £45. Couldn’t believe how cheap that was, and in excellent condition. Unfortunately not fashionable any more, but much better than anything you would get from Ikea.
We were sorry to leave the caravan, but hopefully will be back again in a few weeks.
The weather has been just perfect today. Not too hot.
The collage is just a few of the flowers which have opened while we have been away.
The lilies at the bottom are some I bought last year while in Norfolk. So glad they survived the winter. The dahlia is a new one called Labyrinth which I bought from Sarah Raven. I like the colour and unusual petal formation.
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, and take care when the temperatures rise during the next few days.
Thank you for all the comments etc while we have been away. Will hopefully catch up with you all soon.
