Back to civilisation

We left camp early and headed south. There were a lot more roadworks on the highway but south of Gympie we came to a beautiful double lane highway. Wow we thought, is it going to be this good for the journey down the coast. Yep, the road was good but it quickly filled up with bumper to bumper traffic all exceeding the speed limit. I hate traffic like that as if terrifies me. We were very pleased to turn off to the suburbs where we are staying with Peter and Liz. Pete is Bob’s youngest brother. Brother Paul lives close by so we had a nice few hours catching up before bedtime.

Their kids have grown up and left home so we are staying inside and the van is parked at the neighbour’s place.

I’m not sure what the mountain is in the photo. It’s north of the Glasshouse Mountains and looks similarly volcanic so probably from the same eruptions.

We have now passed the 10,000 kilometre milestone. Phew. What a long way.
