Evening primrose

Quite hot today, though not unpleasant.
I had a go at watering my roses, they are suffering rather. The dahlias are coming along and I think they like the sunshine.
I took Pepper out just now for her late stroll and the evening primroses were glowing in the twilight. They have a most unusual peppery smell that I hadn’t noticed before! And the stamens are remarkable too.
