Creative kids
Bear, not asleep, getting stuck in and involved, participating, being creative, this morning at Creation Station. Where I'll be working soon!!! Wheee that's exciting. Bean remembered the drill from last week and got involved immediately, got his hands covered in purple paint and decided he needed to wipe them clean before carrying on, and was also amenable to kind of helping tidy up at the end.
I'm making more of a deal of him helping at the moment. He's almost too old really for the toddler groups we go to and for Little Explorers (Creation Station), but Bear is not and so Bean comes along. Soon he will be officially a "helper" rather than just an attending child, so he's starting to learn a bit about responsibility and tidying up. Which can be fun and he gets to collect his sparkles (sequins)!
Home via one of the other local grocery shops and I was tempted by a mango, with the intention of making a pudding. It never made it into a pudding. I ate all of it while looking at various recipes.
Steve left to drive up to Manchester mid-afternoon, another interview tomorrow in Yorkshire. I really have had enough of all this being away. I just want my family back together. I've not seen much of him this week and the boys have seen even less, and they miss him. Being here and there is worse than him being away for a couple of weeks because there's just no consistency. You never have time to adjust. We're enjoying having him around when he is around, but getting used to him just not being around much. Which is sad.
Bear fell asleep on the way home but only briefly, so he's had a bit of a grumpy tired afternoon, eventually falling asleep just after the cakes went into the oven; he woke up after Bean and I had eaten a couple each (I'd actually iced them and everything!) and after eating about a dozen tiny chocolate eggs and a bit of cheese (all he wanted) he grumped until it was bedtime and then took over an hour to go back to sleep.
We've been out in the garden again, nappies on the line, tadpoles fed, woodlice picked up and inspected closely, tadpole food prepared, holes dug and filled in. Haven't watered the plants, must remember to do that tomorrow...
And once the boys were asleep it was time to finally update my iPhone iOS (success! Hurrah!) and work on the Blanket. Centre panel joined and done. Four corner panels joined and done. Starting to join the corner panels together then it's time to get a bit creative figuring out how it's actually going to fit together! Got my mojo back which is nice. Must try not to stay up too late tonight...
