Pearls!

I went on a photography adventure with one of my friends tonight. The original plan was to meet with our cameras and go to the Grand Canal in Suzhou and take pictures. Well the night changed as we went along.

The first problem came up when she showed up without her camera. Apparently she left it at work, so really, no problem; we had mine. The next problem though was finding the canal. I had a general idea how to get there, but realistically this proved to be false. We got the bus number from my friend and then took a little bus ride until one Chinese person told us we were supposed to get off.

Well we got off in the middle of a busy street which had road construction going on on one side and and cars rushing past on the other. Well our first move was to get out of the middle of the road and we ended up on the with a park. Since the canal was no where insight, we decided to explore the park at least, see if there was anything interesting going on. Dancing and speed walking. So a lot going on there.

We ventured out and decided to try again to find the canal. After a short walk, we did manage to find it. So the rest of the night was an adventure of taking photos, rose pedal ice cream, literally watching someone open a clam (or three) and take the pearls out, a giant dog named Dung Dung, and finally finishing up at an open mic night.

I swear. Life in China is hardly boring.
