Slog

Well it wasn’t a good idea to use caffeinated coffee in the tiramisu and eat a big portion late last night….was wide awake til 2.30am! Surprisingly woke up earlyish as usual and felt ok so despite a day with no meetings I got up and headed into the office to break the back of the packing. More trips to the charity book shop (trying in the ridiculous heat!), but then decided that I couldn’t take any more bagfulls, and that anyway the ones that were now left were so old I doubt they’d have any resale value or interest at all, so am just going to recycle the rest. Thankfully J offered to bag up the recycling tomorrow whilst I’m at various meetings, so I pushed on filling the last of the confidential waste bags, packing the bags of stuff to take home and taking down the paintings and cards that have made it feel like my space all these years.
Spent quite a lot of the morning in phone calls to try and improve the care experience P has but not sure how successful that will be as I just have to pass messages on. Still, did get his Dog’s Trust canine care card set up and sent to him.
Had to reassure an incoming HoS about a process they were unduly concerned about….if that throws them they’ll struggle with what else will be on their plate in a week or so!
Home and had a nap before leftovers supper. We’d thought to go for a beach walk but we’re all too wiped out, How long will we all stay hiding indoors with shutters closed until the weather breaks?
