Resiliation

If the job search isn't going to work, it's not going to work... I'll resign myself to that and make the most of the sun and the time I do have here.

In the morning I went to the MAIF to cancel our house insurance. For some reason the man told me I'll be getting a refund - I didn't understand why, but I don't really mind, if he wants to give me free money then why not!

Went to the supermarket on the way home because I was craving some fruit. The fridge is now dramatically empty but if I'm going to be leaving I refuse to fill it.

Had a little picnic on the balcony, finished my book, did some blogging, had a little nap, spoke to the neighbours who seemed amused to see me in bikini bottoms on the balcony in April - they were correct, it was an exaggerated reaction to the tiny bit of sunshine we were having! Veronique was visiting her parents-in-law and saw me on the balcony so we had a chat.

A long skype with Sophie - I always say more than I should - but it was fun all the same. I don't know what we discussed for 2 hours but somehow we managed it. Made myself a potato gratin - mmm - and spent the evening watching a film - Tous Les Soleils which was alright. Pretty idealic day with sunshine, beautiful sunset and a bit of acceptance that things may not always go the way I wish. Shame my brain hadn't quite caught up, and kept me up most of the night worrrying.
