A Glasgow Institution
This is the blip I planned a few weeks back but used a photograph of a cinema being demolished instead. This historic pub and restaurant is located in Drury Street Glasgow, close to the city's Central Station. It has been there for years and apparently has the longest bar in any pub in Europe. As its name suggests the bar is indeed horseshoe shaped.
The menu has not changed for years and you can still get three courses for under £5. The bar is, or at least used to be, much frequented by Glasgow teachers and it was where a ginger group called "Rank and File" was organised to stimulate the established educational union to more energetic action during the 1980s.
