A Free Lunch

All day pigeons, jackdaws and even crows have been tapping away at the fat balls. They are just low enough for the larger birds to stand on the ground and peck away at the bottom one. A few days ago I put three in the holder and as you can see it's now down to two.

One particular pigeon was hanging about all day either working away on his own or waiting for other birds to knock some food to the ground which he could then grab.

Unfortunately whenever I went out to take a snap he flew away. It's just after 7.00pm and as I look out a couple of jackdaws are having their tea.
