End of the day

During term time, the library is open 24 hours and staff work a rota to man the information desk until 7 in the evening. But in the summer break it closes at 5, so the rota switches to a 15 min stint helping to clear the library and lock it up. Tonight was my turn which involves standing by the front doors to make sure no-one comes in while the other member of staff checks each of the 5 floors for any stragglers. By 5.15 we’re done and can lock it all up.

Friday at last! It’s been a long tiring week.
