Wow, what an afternoon.

Spent at Barnsley Methodist church listening to The University of Pretoria’s Camerata, and Barnsley Youth Choirs.

Our friend, Elma, used to sing with the choir and asked if we’d like to go with her to hear them. The current conductor sang in it at the same time as her.
It was a joint concert with Barnsley  youth choirs - several age groups and each were superb  Then the Camerata sang. It is a long time since I had a hair on the back of the neck moment, and I’d forgotten just what feelings and emotions music can trigger. Absolutely stunning.

Big burly Barnsley men jumping out of their seats to give a standing ovation, wiping tears away.  The energy in the room changed noticeably when they started singing.

Truly wonderful to hear them but also uplifting to see what Barnsley Youth Choirs are achieving.

Photo is a lovely embroidery in the church.
