Plastic Plants!

After my poem about spending and buying stuff we went for a trip to Ikea.
Only for things we needed though! 
We had to buy things like bedding, towels and bits and pieces that they will need. I was shocked at how many people’s trolley were filled with plastic plants! From ivy, spider plants, palms and cheese plants - all horrible plastic. We all know where they will end up!
Also when we arrived there we needed something to eat and a coffee so made our way to the restaurant - not a single thing was vegan! I asked the lady and she said the cool cabinet had broken down last week. :-(
Anyway, we got most of what was needed and went home - stopping for chips on the way at Gargrave.
Walking round Ikea has worn us out - especially as we got lost at one point and went round and round the same departments.

It’s book and bedtime now, and I will be having a little lie in tomorrow.

The Missing Shoe

I wonder if you remember, 
That time you stole my shoe?
You were my best friend
I’d never have thought it of you
We each had a pair the same
Dolcis ‘Mary Jane’s’ in cherry red
You even helped me search for them
In my wardrobe and under my bed
Then one day I was at your house
Looking through your clothes
There I saw something red
At the bottom of your wardrobe
I retrieved my shoe, put it in my bag 
Closed the door behind me and left
That was the end of our friendship
I was angry but also bereft
I learned a lesson at thirteen
You can’t take everyone at face value
But I soon learnt to trust again
and at least I found my shoe!
