Last night after 11, I checked the front garden and found a large hedgehog noisily chomping the biscuits that I’d put out earlier. They had been disappearing each night, but this is the first time I’ve seen the visitor for myself. I say see him, but that was hard in the dark, but he was so noisy that I couldn’t miss the racket he was making.

Whilst I was watching a smaller hedgehog came running across the garden, at great speed and dived into the area where the biscuits had been. It landed on the first hog and a bit of a domestic started!!!

I left them squabbling whilst I got more biscuits and topped up the water supply. They then moved into the bushes and continued with the noise.

Today has been mixed. Amongst the gems was finding out about this boat. The owners were sitting by the open door, so I asked what it had been in a previous working life …..a life boat off an oil rig!!! That makes sense when you look at the design.

When it came to making dinner I was just too tired to be bothered, so the planned food stayed in the fridge and B went up to the chippies for a large fish and chips. More than enough for two, plus a few chips for Amber.

I checked the garden at 10pm and the visitors haven’t yet arrived.
