A year has past since I wrote my note

Monday found us waking at 8.   By 8.30 I was sitting on the deck drinking my first coffee of the day.  Himself was busying himself at the cooker with bacon and scrambled eggs.

Tooli was engrossed in her book.  The first of many, many she read.

Today, we took the boat up Loch Melfort.

It was a beautiful motor up - the water, again was like a millpond.  We got to stare in big houses on the hillside surrounding the little sea loch.   We contemplated stopping at the top of the loch and disembarking, but we couldn't see, (even with the binoculors) where the quay / pontoon was.

So we motored down the other side, and cut the engine off a little isle.  We have fished there before and we were hopeful of some mackeral for lunch.

We used to have little rods, but we passed them on years back, thinking we would never have use for them again. Himself crafted some fishing reels from wood, and hooks, and reel.  They were perfect.    He and Tooli sat and dangled and twitched the reels, and I sat in perfect contentment, doing absolutely nothing.

We decided to have another wee circuit of the middle island, and spotted the seals again, and many cormorants, and gulls.

It always shocks when you realise you have been out on the water for 3 hours.   We headed back to the house, and we all had a nap.

When Tooli woke, she decided she would venture further afield with the board, and I decided that it would be a great time to use the drone.

What fun!  No airport near by, no ducking out of the way of rogue pilots.   It was beautiful to be able to see over the top of the island, capture the castle, and see the beautiful tones of the water from above.
