oh perfect day!
Really, don't know the words. Literally one of the best days ever. Late morning back to Soğanli Valley to walk the steep path to the old churches (see here). The views, the sun, the silence, the breeze, it's a short cut to Nirvana! This was followed by an hour in the dappled shade of the tree laden garden cafe in the valley while watercolour sketching from the photos we'd just taken.
On the way back to Urgup we decided to visit the signposted 'Keşlik Monastery' not really knowing what to expect. Well, all I can (in)adequately say is that it was a good decision. The place was amazing - from cave refectory, church and dwellings to views from hilltops above that no photo could adequately capture, or the abundance of wild hollyhocks in the monastery garden.
Arriving back in Urgup early evening, we went straight to "Sushi Cappadocia" for a second experience of edible perfection before going back to the hotel to spend a last night at the terrace bar with mine host Murat along with new friends Alican and his son, Kaya.
