Fleckvieh Heifers......

First job after I'd been round everything this morning was to give these fleckvieh bulling heifers their 2nd BVD vaccination and a pour on to keep the fly's off them. They are very canny,in fact so canny that they were a pain to load into the trailer.
What should have been a couple of simple trips turned into a game of dodgems as the fibre optic crews are out in abundance again. A long stretch of one lane traffic with stop/ go boards and 2 extremely bored looking lads working them,then 4 way lights half way up the Lady Brae with not a lot of room to pull in and a sod of a drive away with a loaded trailer. If they are still there when we are carting silage home this week it will be chaos!
An afternoon spent getting sheds ready to hopefully wean cows and calves tomorrow. Just hope there will be enough water in the spring that feeds the sheds for them all.
A few showers today but could do with a good days rain then stop again. Checked the rain guage tonight and 6mm in it. Better than nothing I suppose
