the wife sent me...

This is Nutnik, the male counterpart to my very busy momma squirrel, Nutkin.
I thought the best of Nutnik, thinking maybe he really was saving his wife a trip to the peanut store, but then I made the terrible mistake of looking up squirrel behavior.
Seems squirrels are only in it for the drive to survive, nothing domestic about them at all. No mating for life, or even for the season. No co-parenting, no lovers spats. They're just about as romantic as fish!
Well I still think there is something special about my squirrels!
