Trading Skills
Dear O'H dear & Lovely Tea Jenny,
My car is dying. It’s 11 years old and there are lots of things going wrong with it and it sounds like a bag of spanners so The Prince and I went car shopping.
There were 2 outcomes:
1. We bought a car
2. The Prince has banned me from ever going car shopping again.
We were trading my old car in. “It’s probably worth about 3 pence,” I said, “one of the wing mirrors is pretty much held together with tape and there’s a warning light for something to do with emissions.”
“Shut the *insert rude word* up,” hissed The Prince.
When the salesman told us the trade in price, The Prince said (with a completely straight face) “We’re a bit disappointed, we thought we’d get a bit more for it.”…
And I may have started openly giggling.
The Prince LOVES the negotiation of a sale, chiselling away to get the best deal. It’s a game to him and he’s very good at playing it.
Unless I start talking! Although he still managed to get an extra £500 for my car so he was happy.
